The Accra Psychiatric Hospital has been hit with malnutrition as patients rely on gari and soup for their supper . The revelation was made when the past coordinator of the Psychiatric hospital Hawa Bukari and family donated food and clothes worth two thousand Ghana cedis to the female geriatric ward at the hospital .

A senior staff nurse at the hospital, Emmanula Awude said though government is making effort to avert the canker as it is still not enough to address the challenge and continues to rely on donations from Philanthropists, this she believe does not augur well for the healthy growth of the patients.

She also appealed to Government to supply them with medication for the patients to ease their work since some mental patients are aggressive and sometimes assault them posing a serious threats to their profession .

Madam Hawa Bukari indicated that she will continue to support the hospital and also calls on benevolent organizations to show their love and care and not to neglect them adding that they are still part of the society.

Madam Bukari stressed that in all 200 patients benefited from the donation.
